The Star Himself of My Latest Pet Portrait!

This is Hunter who is the star of my latest Atlanta pet portrait. I had the pleasure of actually meeting Hunter and one of his owners, Lenore, when I delivered the portrait. Hunter was certianly well mannered and just wanted to really go for a walk to check things out. Hunter is a male 6 year old lab / golden retriever mix. His parents are both Georgia Department of Natural Resource agent dogs. His infamous pose is him sitting up on his hind legs sitting straight up as you see him sitting here. His owner, Lenore, told me that he is well mannered and his favorite things to do are: hunting and chasing squirrels or chipmunks, laying in the sun and going for walks. His favorite toy is a bright yellow stuffed dog toy that squeaks, nicknamed "Gunter".

When Lenore contacted me about doing a pet portrait of Hunter, I emailed her the basics of how my process works. I mentioned that I've always done just the head portrait with previous digital pet portraits but we could certianly do a full bodied portrait if desired. Since he was known for his pose, Lenore wanted to show his pose and Hunter became my first full-bodied Atlanta pet portraits.

This portrait was a 2nd year wedding anniversary gift for Lenore's husband. We worked around Lenore's deadline to have it ready in time for the big surprise. The portrait of Hunter was well received by her husband.

Worthmore Jewelers Spring Art Show Opening a Success!

The night of February, 28th, Spring Art Show Opening at Worthmore Jewelers from 4pm - 6pm was a huge success! The gallery was packed at times that it was very hard to move out of the way of the traffic. A few stained glass pieces were sold by an Atlanta stained glass artist, Kathe Kingston. I, Kim Wolfe, showcased my digital collages along with 1 atlanta pet portraits sample of my own yellow lab, Kaylee. It seemed that all Worthmore Jewelers staff were continuously showing people jewelery from thier cases. I'd say, all in all, we had a great turnout for this show opening.

So remember, for an awesome selection of unique jewelery and awesome art from local artist, you must visit Worthmore Jewelers at Decatur Square. For more information on Worthmore Jewelers, you can visit their website at anytime: www.worthmorejewelers.com.

Kim Wolfe is an artist at Worthmore Jewelers

Kim Wolfe and Worthmore Jewelers have teamed up to showcase Kim's artworks on Worthmore's walls for a win win situation for you! You get to see Kim's unique pieces while also seeing the wide selection of unique jewelery pieces that Worthmore offers.
Worthmore Jewelers has 2 locations in Georgia: 1 in Midtown Atlanta and 1 in Decatur, Georgia. In securing the Decatur location in 2007, Worthmore Jewelers moved into a place that was previously a store gallery full of folk art and neat trinkets. The space was already designed to be open with tall ceilings and lots of wall space to have things hanging up. As the owner, Harris Botnick, was prepping the store before opening for city approval and permits, people kept popping their head in asking what gallery he was opening. It was in this time that Harris decided to open up the wall space for local artist to display their art. Since then, they have hired an Art Director, Ashlei Thomas, to keep up the artist and exhibits. And they have parties at the opening of new shows revealing new artist and new works. You can always check out the latest happenings and art show schedules at: http://www.worthmorejewelers.com/ and http://www.worthmorefineart.blogspot.com/.

As an artist, Kim Wolfe, has been working on new pieces to reveal at Worthmore. The next show date is Feburary 28th for the Decatur Store location. For the first time, Kim will showcase anywhere from 10 - 12 pieces at one time. Previously, Kim has been showcasing fewer pieces at at time as she builds up her inventory. Along with the ever popular, Atlanta City Limits, Kim Wolfe will also have her latest modification of California Dreaming. Kim also hopes to have the newest set of the Convention Center piece.

In the meantime, between producing art for Worthmore Jewelers and pet portraits for some awesome pets and owners, Kim has started the beginning stages for the Decatur City Limits. As she is still just taking pictures, Kim has a target date of May 2009 for the Decatur Arts Festival which is a tight deadline. We'll just have to wait and see. See the latest of Kim's works both art and graphic design services at: http://www.absolutelyrightbrain.com/.
